6 killed in apparent gang attack in El Salvador gaming salon

SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador – Authorities in El Salvador say six people have been shot and killed in a suspected gang attack at a gaming salon.

A minor was among the dead. The other victims ranged from 18 to 22 years old.

An early police investigation showed that four men wearing dark clothing arrived Thursday night outside the place where the shooting occurred. The gunmen then forced the victims into the establishment and killed them, causing panic in the neighbourhood.

Shells from M16 and A-47 rifles and pistols were found at the crime scene.

Police investigators say they believe that the attack was part of a dispute between street gangs.
