Longo’s hot Thai chili peppers recalled over possible salmonella contamination

Packaged chili peppers sold under the Longo’s store brand are being recalled over possible salmonella contamination.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency says Veg-Pak Produce Ltd. is recalling hot red Thai chili peppers units sold up to and including Wednesday.

The agency says the product should be thrown out or returned to the store.

It says food contaminated with salmonella may not look or smell spoiled but can still make people sick.

So far no illnesses have been reported.
