Maureen Dowd book on 2016 election coming in September

NEW YORK – A new book from New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd will take on an off-the-wall subject: the 2016 presidential election.

Hachette Book Group imprint Twelve announced Thursday that Dowd’s “The Year of Voting Dangerously: The Derangement of American Politics” will be released on Sept. 13.

The publisher tells The Associated Press the book will include columns, essays and original material by the Pulitzer Prize winner, drawing on coverage of presumptive presidential nominees Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump that dates to the 1990s. Twelve is calling the book an ideal guide for “one of the nastiest and most significant battles of the sexes ever.”

Dowd is known for her acerbic style. Previous books by her include “Are Men Necessary? When Sexes Collide” and “Bushworld: Enter at Your Own Risk.”
