Former priest found guilty of lewd acts in Puerto Rico

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico – A jury in Puerto Rico has found a former Roman Catholic priest guilty of lewd acts in a case involving a 14-year-old boy.

Floyd McCoy Jordan was accused in part of harassing the boy through calls and text messages from 2013 to 2014. He is scheduled to be sentenced in July and could face up to eight years in prison.

His attorney could not be immediately reached for comment.

The island’s Justice Department said Thursday that McCoy had been a priest in the Monserrate Sanctuary in the western town of Hormigueros.
