VERNON – The hearts of several Vernon cops were warmed earlier this month when they found anonymous thank-you cards tucked on the front windshields of their cruisers.

“You know who you are, but we don’t,” RCMP spokesperson Gord Molendyk says of the mystery author.

It was July 11 and 12 when officers found the thank-you cards adorned with stickers of flowers, butterflies and teddy bears left on their cars.

“(Officers) do not always find such a pleasant message left on their vehicles,” Molendyk says. "I am sure it brought a smile to their face because they hung them up on our bulletin board for all to see."

Molendyk says there were at least five cards secretly left on cop cars over the two days.

“There could have been a few more that our officers have kept for themselves,” Molendyk says.

"We would like to thank you for your anonymous cards, your random act of kindness was very much appreciated."
