KELOWNA – A local production company has just released the last episode of the first season of a web series that follows a Kelowna photographer around the world.
State of Mind Films produced the series 1 Stop Closer, which features Shawn Talbot as he creates images in exotic locations like Death Valley, Hawaii and the final episode, Iceland.
“It was definitely a different experience having a camera crew follow me around on some of my more exciting photoshoots for the last couple of years,” Talbot says.
The series, which is directed by David Nault, began as a Kickstarter project that raised more than $19,000 last summer. It was filmed by local cinematographers Jan Vozenilek and Tim Feeny with help from Aaron Fleury.
The team now plans to use the completed first season to pitch a second season to tourism bureaus and corporations, according to a media release.
“Our hope is to partner with various companies not only for the funds to continue the series but also for the distribution networks that they will expose the show to,” Nault says. “Right now, it’s really just about getting it out there and getting people engaged in the show.”
The complete first season is available at the 1 Stop Closer website.
