Kelowna Rockets fall to Blazers in WHL exhibition play

KAMLOOPS – The Kamloops Blazers defeated the Kelowna Rockets 3-1 in WHL exhibition play in Kamloops on Friday night.

Dillon Dube scored the lone Rockets goal in the loss, Sept. 11, with assists going to European import Calvin Thurkauf and rookie prospect Kole Lind, both with their second points in two exhibition games.

The Rockets outshot Kamloops 32-30 in the game and 12-7 in the third period, but the Blazers scored an empty-net goal to seal the victory.

Jake Morrissey played the entire game in net for Kelowna, who were 1-for-8 on the power play. Kamloops was 1-for-6.

The same two teams meet Saturday night, Sept. 12, in Kelowna.
