Downtown Kelowna road closures this week

KELOWNA – Beginning Monday, July 20 through to Saturday, July 25, there will be road closures adjacent to the Community Health and Services Centre currently under construction downtown.

A large crane will be raising the exterior walls of the building. Road closures are necessary so the crane can lift these concrete panels into place. Only one of the adjacent roads will be closed at a time.

The schedule is:

July 20 – Doyle Avenue will be closed between Ellis and St. Paul Streets.
July 21 – Laneway between Ellis and St. Paul Streets will be controlled.
July 22 – St. Paul Street will be closed in front of the project site. Pedestrian traffic will also be controlled.
July 23 – Doyle Avenue will be closed between Ellis and St. Paul Streets. Pedestrian traffic will also be controlled.
July 24 – Ellis Street will be closed in front of the project site. Pedestrian traffic will also be controlled.
July 25 – Doyle Avenue will be closed between Ellis and St. Paul Streets.

The schedule is weather dependent and it is possible that the work will be completed ahead of the scheduled time.

People visiting the area are urged to pay attention to pedestrian escorts and obey site safety personnel.

The City of Kelowna appreciates the patience of residents, businesses and motorists during the construction season.
