Fatal collision along Highway 1 near Cherry Creek

CHERRY CREEK – Tk'Emlups Rural RCMP are at the scene of a fatal vehicle collision west of Kamloops on Highway 1.

One person is dead following a head-on collision between two vehicles east of the Cherry Creek store.

Highway 1 is completely closed several kilometres west of the Highway 1-Highway 5 interchange.

Alternate routes include Highway 5 to Highway 97C via Merritt and Highway 24 between 93 Mile House and Little Fort.

Details of the deceased person are not being released pending notification of the family.
