Increased pedestrian traffic on Abbott for race

KELOWNA – The Women’s 5/10K Walk/Run & Strong Kids Run will take place on Sunday, June 14.

This year marks a change in route for the event and there are no road closures or parking restrictions in effect. However, residents, motorists and cyclists are asked to watch for increased pedestrian traffic, between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m., as participants make their way from City Park parking lot along the Abbott Street Corridor towards the intersection at Lakeshore Road and Barrera Road before returning to City Park.

In addition, the entrance to Rotary Beach (at Lakeshore Road and Barrera Road) will be closed temporarily to accommodate a turnaround point for the 10K runners and will be re-opened as soon as the final runners have passed this point.

For the most up-to-date road work, road closures and potential delays, visit kelowna.ca/roadreport.
