Defenceman Matt Benning signs two-year extension with Oilers
EDMONTON – Defenceman Matt Benning has signed a two-year extension with the Edmonton Oilers.
A native of St. Albert, Alta., the 24-year-old Benning had six goals and 15 assists in 73 games with the Oilers this past season.
Benning originally signed with the Oilers as an undrafted free agent out of Northeastern University in the summer of 2016.
Benning has played in 135 career games with the Oilers, registering 36 points and 78 penalty minutes.
