TORONTO – Some of the most active companies traded Thursday on the Toronto Stock Exchange:

TC Energy Corp. (TSX:TRP). Energy. Up 38 cents, or 0.70 per cent, to $54.94 on 10.6 million shares.

Canadian Natural Resources Ltd. (TSX:CNQ). Energy. Down 41 cents, or 0.52 per cent, to $78.93 on eight million shares.

Crescent Point Energy Corp. (TSX:CPG). Energy. Down 14 cents, or 1.38 per cent, to $9.99 on 7.5 million shares.

Bank of Nova Scotia (TSX:BNS). Financials. Down two cents, or 0.03 per cent, to $67.48 on 7.1 million shares.

Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp. (TSX:AQN). Utilities. Up 13 cents, or 1.13 per cent, to $11.60 on 6.6 million shares.

First Quantum Minerals Ltd. (TSX:FM). Materials. Down 19 cents, or 0.60 per cent, to $31.59 on 6.5 million shares.

Companies in the news:

Aimia Inc. (TSX:AIM). Up three cents, or 0.82 per cent, to $3.70. The largest shareholder of Aimia Inc. said it will vote against the re-election of the company’s board of directors at its annual meeting later this month. Mithaq Capital SPC said it is disappointed with recent events and has lost confidence in Aimia’s board and management. Toronto-based Aimia responded by saying its corporate strategy is on track and shareholders should approach the development with caution.

Absolute Software Corp. (TSX:ABST). Up 24 cents, or 2.20 per cent, to $11.14. Absolute Software Corp. is cutting about 40 jobs as part of a restructuring plan to reduce its operating expenses. The security software company said the job cuts represent about five per cent of its workforce. The restructuring plan also includes office space reductions. Absolute expects to take about US$1.8 million to US$2.8 million in one-time charges in connection with the changes.
