MONTEVIDEO, Uruguay – Canada ‘A’ lost its second straight game at the World Rugby Americas Pacific Challenge, beaten 45-5 by defending champion Argentina ‘A’ on Wednesday.
Uruguay ‘A’ beat Canada 35-21 on Saturday,
Canada trailed 26-0 at the half Wednesday and 40-0 before fullback Theo Sauder scored in the corner in the 66th minute.
The six-team tournament, which runs through Oct. 14, also features Samoa A and the USA Selects. It was introduced in 2016 “to boost the high-performance pathway” and prepare the countries for the November internationals.
The Canadians face Tonga ‘A’ on Oct. 14.
