Woman hit, killed by trailer pulled by pickup driven by husband

KELOWNA – Both the RCMP and Coroner are investigating after a 40-year-old woman was hit and killed by a trailer being towed by a pickup truck driven by her husband early Sunday morning.

RCMP say the woman was hit at around 2:30 a.m., May 24, in the 3100-block of Lakeshore Road, just south of KLO Road.

Witnesses say a grey Chev pickup pulling a trailer was driving north when the trailer hit the woman, according to a media release.

“Injuries to the female proved fatal and she perished at the scene,” Sgt. Patricia Cook says in the release. “The investigation continues with respect to the totality of the circumstances.”

The RCMP traffic reconstructionist and Coroner were on the scene this morning and their investigation continues.

The name of the woman killed won’t be released until her family is notified.
