Kind of like the grownup version of “Nicky Nicky Nine Doors”, but in this case the surprises are done with the most loving intentions.

Alanah Krantz in Kelowna runs the Facebook group "Okanagan Co-op" with five other ladies. They are a Facebook wholesale buying group that spans from Armstrong to Penticton and have over 6,700 members. The group offers a wide range of products at wholesale pricing.

"It's like an online shopping experience but the prices are cheaper than Amazon because we are buying in bulk," Krantz says. “I heard of these wine fairies from another group and decided to start my own but only for members of our Okanagan Co-op. I started the group last Friday and were almost at 600 members. I started it off by going out and dropping off a wine fairy surprise to four ladies. It felt so good leaving a surprise on someone's front step. It was an adrenaline rush for sure.”

Every basket is different and features beverages and sweet treats. | Credit: Alanah Krantz

Since then, the group has skyrocketed and since its inception there have been hundreds of doorsteps that have been hit by the Fairies.

“I've loved watching people drop off gifts and receive," she says. "So many ladies have said that this has brought tears to their eyes after a rough day or could have really just used a sweet surprise I will continue to do this for as long as it keeps going. A bit of brightness before heading back to work this afternoon. Looks like pasta for dinner while there. Thank you so much!

I was extremely blessed by two fairies! You are so amazing. My son and I will be paying it forward tomorrow! Thank you from the bottom of my heart to the top!

I love this group and I will definitely participate again if there's some kind of way to do another "round".
