The driver injured when a rock crashed through her vehicle's windshield last week on a Metro Vancouver highway has died.<\/p>\n
BC Highway Patrol Cpl. Melissa Jongema confirmed that the vehicle's 34-year-old female driver has died of her injuries after the crash on June 6.<\/p>\n
Police said a day after the crash on Highway 1 that a "large rock" had been recovered from the scene.<\/p>\n
Jongema said police are still investigating where the rock may have come from and no additional details have been released.<\/p>\n
The crash happened in Burnaby, near the Willingdon exit on the highway, and police said previously that the driver was taken to hospital in critical condition.<\/p>\n
Police are still seeking witnesses and possible dashcam footage of the crash to help with the investigation.<\/p>\n
