{"id":4965,"date":"2025-11-17T05:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-11-17T13:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/staging.infonews.ca\/?p=7426624"},"modified":"2025-11-17T05:00:00","modified_gmt":"2025-11-17T13:00:00","slug":"in-numbers-which-city-in-the-okanagan-and-kamloops-has-the-worst-drivers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging.infonews.ca\/inwheels\/news\/4965\/in-numbers-which-city-in-the-okanagan-and-kamloops-has-the-worst-drivers\/","title":{"rendered":"iN NUMBERS: Which city in the Okanagan and Kamloops has the worst drivers?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>People love to complain about the lousy drivers in their city, but complaining about drivers in other cities is even more fun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Luckily for us, ICBC recently released some numbers on impaired driving, speeding and even some careless cyclists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are some numbers to help you shame drivers in other cities, or your own city, up to you:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>88:<\/strong> Impaired driving incidents in Kamloops were reported to ICBC in the first half of 2025.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>67:<\/strong> Impaired driving incidents in Kelowna were reported to ICBC in the first half of 2025.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>17:<\/strong> Impaired driving incidents in Penticton were reported to ICBC in the first half of 2025.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>50: <\/strong>Impaired driving incidents in Vernon were reported to ICBC in the first half of 2025.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>3,277:<\/strong> Speeding incidents in Kelowna were reported to ICBC in the first half of 2025.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>2,497: <\/strong>Speeding incidents in Kamloops were reported to ICBC in the first half of 2025.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>1,529: <\/strong>Speeding incidents in Vernon were reported to ICBC in the first half of 2025<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>85: <\/strong>Speeding incidents in Penticton were reported to ICBC in the first half of 2025. This seems like a low number compared to the other cities. It could be that people were driving safely in Penticton, or maybe the speeding infractions weren&#8217;t reported to ICBC.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>7:<\/strong> Cyclists in Kelowna were reported to ICBC in the first half of 2025.
