Police closed the Trans-Canada Highway after a fatal collision with a pedestrian in Salmon Arm early this morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
BC Ambulance told Salmon Arm RCMP that a male pedestrian was in cardiac arrest after he was struck by an eastbound vehicle at 12:10 a.m. today, Sept. 15, according to a press release from police.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The man died of his injuries at the scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The driver stayed at the scene and has cooperated with the investigation. Police don\u2019t suspect impairment from drugs or alcohol as a factor in the collision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service were called out to help with the investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The section of highway where the crash happened had been closed for the investigation but is supposed to be open later this morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
