{"id":4848,"date":"2025-08-26T11:26:02","date_gmt":"2025-08-26T18:26:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/staging.infonews.ca\/?p=7329606"},"modified":"2025-09-02T11:58:06","modified_gmt":"2025-09-02T18:58:06","slug":"driver-caught-excessively-speeding-near-princeton-in-moms-lamborghini","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging.infonews.ca\/inwheels\/news\/4848\/driver-caught-excessively-speeding-near-princeton-in-moms-lamborghini\/","title":{"rendered":"Driver caught excessively speeding near Princeton in mom&#8217;s Lamborghini"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>A North Vancouver man has some explaining to do after getting caught going 130 km\/h in a 80 zone in his mom&#8217;s Lamborghini on Highway 3 near Princeton earlier this summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The driver of the grey Lamborghini Gallardo was pulled over on June 1 going 40km\/h over the posted speed limit which earned him an automatic vehicle impound, according to an RCMP media release issued today, Aug. 26.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe driver said he was on his way to a racetrack. Had he driven more responsibly, he could have had a great day at the track. Instead, he had an awkward conversation with mom,&#8221; BC Highway Patrol media relations officer Cpl. Michael McLaughlin said in the release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 26-year-old driver was faced with a bill of more than $2,500.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here&#8217;s how the RCMP broke down the fines and associated costs:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Excessive speed under section 148(1) of the BC Motor Vehicle Act ($368);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No front licence plate under section 3.011(1) of the BC Motor Vehicle Act Regulations ($109);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The costs for a rural tow and a 7-day impound;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Three years of high-risk driver premiums for licencing and insurance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur first priority is to keep you and all road users safe,&#8221; Cpl. McLaughlin said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIf that&#8217;s not enough to slow you down, you may wish to consider whether you\u2019re willing to light thousands of dollars of your own money on fire.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The driver said he was on his way to a racetrack.
