A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle in Merritt this morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Emergency crews responded to a report that a pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle on Highway 5 near Kane Valley Road at 5:15 a.m. today, April 3, according to a press release from police.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The man was pronounced dead at the scene despite life-saving efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Merritt RCMP and the BC Coroners Service are currently investigating the man’s death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Northbound traffic on Highway 5 was closed around the scene of the crash earlier but has since reopened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
