No need to hunt for Easter fun this weekend
KELOWNA – Whether you’ve got family to entertain or calories to burn off, Kelowna has all kinds of events on hand this Easter weekend.
Parkinson Recreation Centre is hosting their 11th Annual Easter Pancake Breakfast on Easter Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. With door prizes, children’s activities and clothing giveaways, this event is fun for the whole family. Donations of non-perishable food items, clothing or cash can be dropped off at Victory Life Fellowship or La-Z-Boy Furniture Gallery.
The first ever Easter Seals Splash of Colour Family Fun Run takes place this Saturday. The run takes you through four colour zones followed by Easter treats, a mass dousing with water and a visit from the Easter Bunny. The five kilometre run benefits disabled kids and their families and starts with a chocolate pancake breakfast at 8 a.m.
Oyama Zipline is having a unique Easter egg hunt Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Riders can use the zipline to search for eggs containing treats and prizes along the many forest trails.
Take a train ride on the Kettle Valley Steam Railway with visits from the Easter Bunny this weekend. There will be goody bags for the kids and sweeping views of orchards, vineyards and lakes for the adults on this hour-long ride.
The United Way is holding an Easter carnival Saturday at the Delta Grand Conference Centre. For a suggested donation of $5, visitors can meet CrocTalk’s friendly tortoises or check out a petting zoo. There will also be face painting, cookie decorating, bounce castles and a hockey shootout with all proceeds benefitting the local United Way. Doors open at 1 p.m.
The Rutland Park Society and URBA are having a free Eggstravaganza Sunday at Rutland Centennial Park. Starting at 2:30 p.m., over 1000 eggs will be hidden around the park for kids from 2 to 10 years old. There will also be special hunt for seniors over 60.
