NISKU — Rachel Homan’s Ottawa-based team will play Silvana Tirinzoni of Switzerland in Sunday’s women’s final at the CO-OP Tour Challenge.
Homan defeated Anna Hasselborg of Sweden 4-3 in Saturday’s semifinals, while Tirinzoni got past Xenia Schwaller of Switzerland 7-3 in the other semifinal.
Homan trailed 2-1 after four ends against Hasselborg, but scored a deuce in the fifth end, gave up a single in the sixth and won the game with a single in the seventh.
Tirinzoni took a 4-3 lead into the eighth end and scored three with the hammer to advance to the final.
On the men’s side, Bruce Mouat of Scotland and Matt Dunstone of Winnipeg, Man., advanced to Sunday’s final.
Mouat beat Joel Retornaz of Italy 4-2 in the semifinals, while Dunstone edged John Epping of Sudbury, Ont., in the other semifinal.
