RCMP say Kamloops stabbing was targeted

RCMP say a man was stabbed on Kamloops’ North Shore Wednesday night is lucky a passerby found him in a bush.

Officers were called to Tranquille Road and Don Street where the stabbing victim was found around 10:15 p.m. on Jan. 22, according to a press release from police.

The man was taken to a hospital where he is expected to recover.

“Luckily, a passerby found the victim in a bush and applied pressure to the injured area, while emergency responders were en route,” Kamloops RCMP Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said in the release.

“At this time, the assault is believed to be targeted. Little information is available related to the attacker, other than that the person was allegedly wearing a complete face mask. The attack also may have occurred in another location.”

Police are asking people to check security cameras and dash cameras to see if any video was captured that might help the investigation.
