TORONTO – Some of the most active companies traded Tuesday on the Toronto Stock Exchange:

Toronto Stock Exchange (14,594.03, up 161.65 points):

Talisman Energy Inc. (TSX:TLM). Up one cent, or 0.11 per cent, to $9.11 on 6.9 million shares.

Ivernia Inc. (TSX:IVW). Miner. Down 4.5 cents, or 52.94 per cent, to four cents on 6.2 million shares.

Teck Resources Ltd. (TSX:TCK.B). Miner. Up 62 cents, or 4.15 per cent, to $15.57 on 2.9 million shares.

Torex Gold Resources Inc. (TSX:TXG). Down two cents, or 1.77 per cent, to $1.11 on 2.9 million shares.

Bombardier Inc. (TSX:BBD.B). Aerospace. Up five cents, or 1.28 per cent, to $3.96 on 2.8 million shares.

Inter Pipeline Ltd. (TSX:IPL). Oil and gas. Up $1.28, or 3.97 per cent, to $33.54 on 2.8 million shares.

Manulife Financial (TSX:MFC). Insurance. Up 27 cents, or 1.22 per cent, to $22.41 on 1.7 million shares. The insurance company is expanding its global wealth management footprint by snatching up New York Life’s retirement plan services business for an undisclosed amount. The company says it will make the purchase through its U.S. division, John Hancock Financial.
