SURREY, B.C. – A man has been injured in what RCMP believe was a targeted shooting in Surrey, B.C.
Police say in a news release that the victim was hit in the abdomen by a single bullet while walking with another man, who was not hurt.
Officers say both men are known to them.
They say the victim has serious injuries but is expected to survive.
Investigators say the two were in the Whalley neighbourhood just before 3 a.m., when the shot was fired by one of two unknown assailants on bicycles.
A search continues for witnesses or video surveillance that could identify the suspects and police want to speak to anyone with information about the attack.
