Turkey: 1 killed, several injured in explosion at police station in Istanbul

ISTANBUL – Turkish media say an explosion at a police station in Istanbul has killed one person and injured several others.

Ambulances were heading to the scene of the blast on Tuesday.

Turkey’s Dogan News Agency reported that one person was killed and several were injured. Other media outlets reported a similar toll.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility. Fighting between Turkish forces and Kurdish rebels has surged in recent months.
