Health Canada is announcing the recall of a Husqvarna brand lawn mower due to mechanical issues.
The gas-powered Husqvarna Push Mower with a Honda GCV160 engine is being recalled because the operator presence bail can fail, causing the engine to remain on and the blades to continue to rotate.
The recall notice says someone who isn’t aware that the blades are still running may reach under the mower deck to clear a clog or other debris and could be injured.
About 1,900 affected mowers were sold by authorized Husqvarna dealers across Canada between January and June of this year.
Individuals with an affected mower are being asked to stop using it and bring it to the nearest authorized dealer for repairs, which will be provided free of charge.
Health Canada says there haven’t been any reports of consumer incidents or injuries related to the use the mowers.
