Families of slain doctors file wrongful death lawsuit

BOSTON – The families of two doctors killed in their luxury Boston condominium have filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the building’s owners, management and security providers, including the company that once employed the suspect.

Police found the bodies of 38-year-old Dr. Lina Bolanos and 49-year-old Dr. Richard Field on May 5.

The Boston Globe (http://bit.ly/2veVTFv ) reports the suit filed Monday alleges that the high-end building provided just a “veneer” of security, and that a security guard working the front desk the day of the killings took about 20 minutes to call 911 after receiving a call about a gunman in the engaged doctors’ penthouse.

The suit seeks a jury trial and “all damages available.”

The suspect, Bampumim (BAM’-puh-mihm) Teixeira, was shot by police at the scene. He has pleaded not guilty.
