CAIRO – An Egyptian court has sentenced 3 Al-Jazeera journalists, including Egyptian-Canadian Mohamed Fahmy, to 7 years each in prison.

Fahmy, Australian Peter Greste and Egyptian Baher Mohamed were arrested on Dec. 29.

They had been accused of providing a platform for the Islamist Muslim Brotherhood group of ousted president Mohammed Morsi, which Egypt’s government has branded a terrorist organization.
