MARKHAM, Ont. – Honda Canada says it will voluntarily recall approximately 20,920 model-year 2012 CR-V vehicles and about 800 model-year 2013 Acura ILX vehicles.
The automaker needs to replace both front door latches and, in some CR-V vehicles, the interior front door handles because the door release cable may become partially disengaged.
Honda Canada says when this happens, the affected door might open unexpectedly.
No accidents or injuries have been reported related to this issue.
Honda says it will begin mailing notifications to affected owners in mid-August.
Owners can check to see if their vehicles are affected, and obtain additional information, by going on-line after July 20 at www.honda.ca/recalls and www.acura.ca/recalls.
Honda owners can also call (888) 946-6329 and Acura owners can call (888) 922-8729.
