WINNIPEG – Winnipeg quarterback Buck Pierce tore ligaments and a muscle in his left foot.
Pierce was knocked out of action early as Winnipeg went down 42-10 to the Edmonton Eskimos on Friday.
Blue Bombers general manager Joe Mack released a statement today outlining the injury.
He says Pierce is expected to be in a walking boot for at least the next week but will be back as soon as possible.
Backup Alex Brink will start Wednesday in Toronto against the Argonauts (1-2) as Winnipeg (0-3) looks for its first win of the season.
