Higher bond sought for man accused of shooting officer

CLAYTON, Mo. – St. Louis County prosecutors are seeking to increase the bond for a man accused of shooting a police officer in the neck, leaving him paralyzed from the neck down.
A judge will consider the request Wednesday at a hearing for Antonio Taylor, who is currently jailed on $500,000 bond on charges that include first-degree assault of a law enforcement officer. A spokesman for the prosecutor’s office wasn’t sure about the amount of bond that will be sought.
Ballwin officer Michael Flamion was shot from behind on July 8 after a traffic stop. Taylor, of St. Louis, was arrested later that day.
The shooting occurred one day after five officers were killed in Dallas. Ballwin officials, though, have not discussed a possible motive.
