Warning issued to Penticton motels, hotels to lookout for soda pop thieves
PENTICTON – Travel Penticton is warning hotels and motels to be wary after a pair of guests took advantage of a local motel keeper by robbing the pop machines.
Travel Penticton executive director Thom Tischik says in a notice to members the thieves are making the rounds in Penticton recently, but may be "working their way up and down the valley."
Two suspects staying at the Days Inn and Conference Centre in Penticton allegedly emptied the Pepsi and Coke machines before checking out.
Tischik says in the email the Coca-Cola security team are trying to catch the pair and have asked Travel Penticton to alert their membership.
“It seems the security team is one step behind them,” he says.
