PENTICTON – NIMBY-ism was alive and well at a Pentiction city council meeting when a winery’s request to serve food on it’s patio was denied. The neighbours applauded council’s decision.

It was one of the top stories InfoTel News covered this week in the South Okanagan.

A convicted pedophile used drugs, alcohol and lies to lure his teenaged victim into bed. That from the sentencing hearing of Rene Burke. The Crown wants Burke behind bars for 3 to 4 years for touching a young boy for a sexual purpose.

And a bizarre sight at Penticton city hall as the acting mayor and city manager circled the building on a tandem bike dressed as a deer and a chicken, respectively. You guessed it. They lost a bet.
