Far-reaching weather statement issued for B.C.’s Interior calling for rain and storms

THOMPSON-OKANAGAN – A special weather statement brings more bad news for residents battling floodwater in B.C.’s Interior.

Rain, thunderstorms and a cold front will move over the region late on Thursday and fade out on Friday, according to the Environment Canada statement today, May 9 at 2:45 p.m.

The anticipated rainfall, combined with the spring snow melt will add to already high water levels.

The special statement was issued for Nicola, North and South Thompson, Okanagan Valley, Shuswap, and Similkameen regions.

Environment Canada advises residents to check the River Forecast Centre online to check current streamflow conditions.
