Snowmobilers missing near 100 Mile House, B.C., found safe

100 MILE HOUSE, B.C. – Two snowmobilers who went missing on Mica Mountain near 100 Mile House, B.C., have been found safe.

South Cariboo Search and Rescue say teams were sent out to look for two young men Saturday night after they were reported missing when they didn't come home for dinner.

Search manager James Seeley says five crew searched for the pair overnight and more were sent out Sunday morning at first light.

He says the missing pair were believed to be prepared and carrying equipment to start a fire, but there were concerns about the high avalanche risk in the area.

A helicopter spotted the pair Sunday morning and ground search crews were able to reach them by 11 a.m.

The cause for them getting stuck on the mountain is unclear but Seeley says both men are safe.
