Possible fentanyl-laced heroin, cocaine seized in Kelowna drug bust

KELOWNA – Police arrested six men and one woman in connection to an alleged large-scale drug operation following a two-month investigation.

Police identified a West Kelowna drug operation as the supplier for dealers and drug houses based primarily in Kelowna, Kelowna RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jesse O'Donaghey says in a media release. 

On Nov. 30, police executed two search warrants at two separate houses in West Kelowna, one property on Smid Road and the other on Old Ferry Warf Road.

O'Donaghey says officers seized 1.32 kg of suspected fentanyl-laced heroin, 2.1 kg of suspected methamphetamine, 10 ounces of cocaine and other additional suspected drugs. Police found more than $100,000 in cash, firearms and thousands of dollars in suspected stolen property.

Terry Weninger, 44, and Robert Colbon, 59, both of West Kelowna and Darcy Lenko, 52, from Penticton all appeared in court today. The three are remanded in custody. All have been charged with multiple counts of possession of a controlled substance with purpose of trafficking.

Lance Wust, 42, of Kelowna, is charged with possession of a controlled substance. Wust was released on strict conditions.

According to O'Donaghey, the other individuals arrested, a 52-year-old West Kelowna man, a 22-year-old Vernon man and an 18-year-old Kelowna woman were released from custody. All face potential charges and are scheduled to appear in court.
