Penticton’s Skaha Beach gets kudos in national magazine
PENTICTON – The rest of Canada is finding out what most residents of Penticton already know.
A June 30 article published in Chatelaine Magazine listed Penticton’s Skaha Beach as number one in a list of the top 20 beaches in Canada.
The magazine touted Skaha Beach’s family friendliness and annual Peachfest Sand Art Competition as major draws to the sandy shoreline, also pointing out the many amenities at the beach: volleyball, a kids park, picnic tables, a tennis court, a watersplash park and a playground marina.
Other B.C. beaches making the top 20 list include Wreck Beach in Vancouver, Chesterman Beach near Tofino and Long Beach in Pacific Rim National Park on Vancouver Island.
