Ethel Street closed for Phase 2 active transportation corridor construction

KELOWNA – Beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday, April 25, Ethel Street between Stockwell and Cawston avenues will be closed for the beginning of the second phase of active transportation corridor improvements.

The project is anticipated to be complete in October.

East-west cross streets within the construction zone, including Fuller and Wilson avenues, will be closed due to the installation of deep utilities. Please obey traffic signs and safety personnel.

Pedestrians and cyclists are encouraged to take alternate routes due to uneven surfaces.

Phase 2 improvements to Ethel Street will include separated cycle tracks on both sides of the road, new sidewalks, landscaping and utility improvements.

Phase 1 construction of the Active Transportation Corridor between Bernard Avenue and Harvey Avenue was completed in December 2015.

The City of Kelowna appreciates the patience of residents, businesses and motorists while construction is taking place.
