
Kamloops speed skater heading to Canadian West championships
KAMLOOPS – The B.C. Speed Skating Short Track Championships concluded over the weekend at McArthur Island with the host Kamloops Long Blades doing well in a number of age classes.
Teagan Lawhead finished in fifth for 10-year-old males. For 11-year-old males, Vlad Demishkevich finished second and Cameron Thomas finished ninth. Isaiah Jessie Uribe finished fifth for 13-year-old males, and Thomas Keijzer came sixth in 19-year-old males.
Leah Turner finished third for 11-year-old females, while Martina Antifay finished second for 12-year-old females. Holly Antifay finished third for 15-year-old females.
The skaters also had a number of personal bests.
Martina Antifay is now going to the Canadian West Short Track Championships in Edmonton March 19 and 20.
