MIAMI – Authorities say a man who wore different costumes while robbing about a dozen in banks in Florida over the past three weeks has been caught.
An FBI news release says 22-old old Brandon Venditti was arrested Tuesday after a Naples bank robbery.
The release says the Florida Highway Patrol and FBI agents had spotted a possible getaway vehicle, and the driver refused to pull over. The car eventually crashed and Venditti surrendered. Another person in the car was also arrested.
Investigators believe Venditti to be the “Shaky Bandit,” who earned the name because his hands shook during robberies. Authorities believe the first robbery was Sept. 27 in Oakland Park. Some of his costumes included a surgeon, a hunter and a construction worker.
Venditti was set to make his first federal court appearance Wednesday in Fort Myers.
