Highway 33 reopened around Huckleberry wildfire

KELOWNA – Highway 33 is once again open to single-land alternating traffic through the wildfire area in Joe Rich. 

The Emergency Operation Centre made the call along with the Ministry of Transportation. Speed limits may be reduced and emergency vehicles are in the area. You can also check drivebc.ca for more information.

RCMP and traffic control have road blocks in place at Goudie Road and Cardinal Creek Road to prevent access into the area which remains under Evacuation Order, affecting approximately 142 properties. Local traffic only is being allowed into properties within the areas on evacuation alert along Cardinal Creek and Sun Valley Roads.

All evacuation orders and alerts remain in effect.
